Attention artists and makers of Independence, Cherryvale, Parsons, Coffeyville, Neodesha and surrounding areas. Pumpkin Season will be here before we know it. The Gift Shop and Pumpkin Patch at Prior Creek Farms will be opening the first weekend in October. We’re excited to fill the shelves with handcrafted items from Southeast Kansas and beyond. Hay season is in full swing. Lots of hay is needed to feed our cattle in the winter months when grass isn’t growing. We also custom bale hay for others, so this is a busy time of year at Prior Creek Farms!

Enjoy a few clips of the tractor and baler in action. It’s loud, and it was dusty… but it’s fun to watch! If you’d like to see this tractor and other farm equipment up close, visit the Pumpkin Patch for our Hay Days event October 9th and 10th.

We have honey bees arriving today, thanks to Black Timber Honey! Our Pumpkin Patch will be hosting the bees for several weeks. To produce pumpkins, insects such as honey bees and bumble bees must move pollen from flower to flower on the pumpkin vines. We’re excited to have these helpful little visitors buzzing around!
